PART I

This is the largest release (171 brands) of Vintages.

For the first time ever, the management decided to include large format (magnum) bottles of red wine. Magnum bottles slow down aging, and according to some, even improve the flavour when compared to smaller formats.

Chateau Mouton Rothschild bottles 375 ml., 750 ml., Magnums, Jeroboams, and even bigger formats for those who collect the brand. This practice allows connoisseurs judge how their inventory is improving by tasting the smaller formats first.

Even the part I presented was large ad contains several spirits including Scotch, Bourbon, whiskies, one eau-de-vie, grappas, several fortified wines, amaro and digestives.

Spirits

Glenfarclas 105 Cask Strength Highland Single Malt

Pale golden colour with brown tinges. Smells of herbs and spices dominate the nose. In the mouth, cereal flavours mixed with sherry oak contributions render this 55 per cent ABV smooth and very appealing.

Obstbrand (apple and pear eau-de-vie)
J.Hoermann, Bavaria, Germany
Poached pear and apple puree aromas dominate the nose, buttressed with a little saline flavour.
Dry, but smooth, elegant and refines. Serve chilled with baked apples, or pour into an aromatic Colombian cup of coffee.

Specialty product

This barrel-aged mead offers pear, and rich honey aromas. Medium bodied and medium sweet with a nutty flavour in the mid-palate.
Mead is popular in Central European countries and British Isles.

This cabernet/merlot blend from a very successful vintage was created by A. Jackson, the co-founder of Jackson-Triggs winery that was sold to Constellation Brands some time ago.
Allan loves port and created this “tawny” style fortified wine.
Refreshing fruitiness and layered flavours in the mouth make this wine pleasant. enjoy with unsalted nuts after an extended family gathering.

Golden colour. Loaded with citrus, peach and apricot aromas. Well balanced and deeply flavoured. An excellent wine to enjoy with dried fruits, or with seasonal berries, or on its own instead of dessert.
